Meet the Artist - Jan Sherwood

Our Tasting Room has transformed into a rotating mini gallery, featuring bold contemporary artworks by local and regional artists.

Join us for the afternoon on Friday 5th September, as we welcome Jan Sherwood, our current exhibiting artist to The Tasting Room. Meet Jan, hear about her journey, and experience her captivating works up close.

Originally trained as a textile designer, Jan has expanded her work into painting, printmaking, and digital media, blending techniques to explore fresh and unexpected directions. Much of her art draws inspiration from the ever-changing coastline – its shifting tides, seasonal light, and rich history – captured first through photography and sketchbooks during walks and sailing trips, then transformed into striking artworks.

Her portfolio spans watercolour, acrylic, and mixed media, alongside an impressive range of printmaking processes including linocut, monotype, photopolymer etching, drypoint, collagraph, and carborundum.
