Janet Sherwood
Jan is a designer, printmaker, artist, and educator with over 35 years of experience. Originally a textile designer, she has expanded her practice to include hand-painted, printmaking, and digital media, using their interplay to explore new creative directions. Inspired by the ever-changing coastline - its light, tides, seasons, and history - she captures her observations through photography and sketchbooks during walks and sailing trips. Her work spans watercolour, acrylic, mixed media, and a wide range of printmaking techniques, including linocut, monotype, photopolymer etching, drypoint, collagraph, and carborundum, often pushing these methods through experimentation.
